Whimsical Wonderland...

A new little birdie its on the way :)

Recently myself and a few of my sisters friends hosted a baby shower in her honor. The amount of time spent gorging over Pinterest for "the perfect" idea = a few months, the level of frustration = countless, the thought of just going and getting a premade theme from party city = pleasing, but the amount of hardwork leading to the look on my sister and brother-in-laws face seeing it all come together = priceless!

Highlights of the night:

  • The dessert table
  • Fun and games
  • An intractable photo booth

When there is a new one on the way the best and the only thing to do is to prepare to spoil them before they even come into this world, and in the process give a little sweetness to everyone who takes part in such a wonderful occasion. To do so you set up a mouth watering dessert table and a quirky little "photo booth" with props and all. ~(^_^)~

Most of the desserts on the desserts were made at home and kept on the side of minimalism so when your short on time and have a knack for sweets you can get the best of both worlds -- tasty sweets that are super simple and easy to make.

And how cute was this cake! It was one of the items I had made from a local bakery/ cakery and it was beautiful. Even though the camera wasn't able to pick of the extent of the details, the butter cream ruffles on the lower half of the cake was dusted in pearl luster which gave it the look of freshly fallen snow under the lights.
The cake topper was just the cutest thing fondant "paper" cranes that were drawn in from the concept of of 3D photo booth.

At the end of the night we gave the guests a chance to fill a goodies bag of as many treats as to their hearts content.

There were also a lot of games planned through out the night between snacking on appetizers things got very competitive between all the guest when it came down to winning the prizes, but alas there can only be a single victor in every game but everyone had a few chances to claim a prize. A few of the games we played included: price is right, guess the number, a word scramble, guess the baby food, and what did my baby eat to name a few lol.

And now for my absolute favourite part of the entire night (besides the sweets of course) was the photo wall!!! It was probably the most tedious thing to assemble since I had to fold every single paper crane and just for added accentuation a coupe of foil cranes - my god this was no easy task- but it turned out to be the highlight of the evening with all the quirky props for the guest to pose under with the new mommy to be ^_^.

So that about wraps up the baby shower blog and although we made this theme for a baby shower it would work wonderfully for just about any occasion but maybe not all of them lol. Lastly, HUGEEEEEEEEEE shout out to my accomplices and my brother-in-law and my brother who helped my vision come to light!!!! <3 Now here are a few added bonus pictures for good measures :)
